    Share Daily DC Schedules?

I've seen only 1 real thread where only a couple responded with their daily Daycare Schedules. Those of you that run Home Daycares, I would really appreciate sharing your daily daycare schedules. I plan on using MGT curriculum and having a storytelling time before a 2HR standard afternoon naptime.

I'd love to see what your "posted" schedules are and what "your" schedules are, meaning the schedule for the kiddos + the little things like when you change diapers and stuff that would help.

As a newbie starting out, I'm was thinking of using a stopwatch watch to help with keeping on schedule.

    Tips would be helpful too.

    My dailly scheddule (in theory!!!)

    7:00-7:45 Arrival & quiet activities
    7:45-8:15 Breakfast and clean up
8:15-9:00 Morning walk and outdoor play
    9:00-9:20 Arts & Crafts
9:20-9:50 Circle time & Reading time
9:50-10:00 Yoga or other indoor large motor workout
    10:00-10:15 AM snack
10:15-11:00 Free play and group centers play
    11:00-11:15 Clean up
    11:15-12:00 Outdoor play
    12:00-12:30 Lunch
12:30-1:00 Put out nap stuff and Read books together
1:00-????? Nap time. Everyone has to rest for a while, but are allowed to sleep until they wake up on their own. The kids who wake up first just read or color quietly until the others get up
    4:00-4:15 PM snack
4:15-5:15 Outside play or a walk
5:15-5:30 Clean up time and departure

The schedule can change with circumstances like weather or general disposition of the kids. Sometimes we have projects that take longer to do so other things are shortened or just stuff like that. I just let parents know in advance that I do my best to stick to the schedule but sometimes the stars just aren't aligned and my schedule goes out the window. Hoep this helped

        My schedule goes like this:

        drop-off to 9:25 - Free play
        9:25 - 9:30 - Clean up toys
        9:30 - 9:45 - Circle time.
9:45-10 - Wash hands for snack
        10 - 10:15ish - Snack
        10:15-10:20 - sunscreen, shoes
        10:20-11:20 - Active play - outside - walks - park trips, etc.
11:20-11:30 - Clean up toys and head inside.
11:30-11:45 - Scheduled potty break. Clearly the kids can go potty whenever they need but this is one of the only times during the day that I tell them to go. Wash hands, get ready for lunch. While waiting for their friends, they get to look at books.
        11:45 - noon - making lunch
        12:00-12:20 - lunch
12:20 - 12:35 - Thomas. The only TV time they get for the day.
12:35 - 3 - naptime. And they use every minute of that time. Honestly.
3:00-3:15 - Potty, wash hands, upstairs for snack.
        3:15 - 3:15 - snack
        3:15-3:20 - sunscreen, shoes, etc.
        3:20 - pick-up - Outside play.

We read tons of books and do a lot of other "educational" stuff during free play, it's just not structured. I don't have a curriculum, but parents always compliment me on how much the kids are learning with me. Leearning is a consequence of play.

PLEASE don't use a stop watch to stay on schedule. Do you really want to be in the middle of a teachable moment and have to revert to something totally different? I've changed my schedule every time I've gotten a new child. Different energies combine in different ways and you will probably find it will take you a while to find a routine that flows nicely with your group.

          During summer w/ no curiculum
8-9am - Kids arrive and play freely
          9 - Snack time.
          9:30 - Outside to play
          11:30 - Books & tv while I make lunch
12 - Lunch. When they're done they go back and watch tv/read til naptime
          1 - Naptime
4 - Kids get up and we gather snacks and go outside to play til they're all picked up. If it's raining or too hot, they play inside til 4:45 then tidy up and wait for pick up.

During the rest of the year w/ a preschool curriculum
8-9am - Kids arrive and play freely
          9 - Snack time.
          9:30 - Circle time
9:45/10am - Activity for the day then free play or outside if it's nice
          11:30 - Books & tv while I make lunch
12 - Lunch. When they're done they go back and watch tv/read til naptime
          1 - Naptime
4 - Free play with snack

Our activities vary depending on the day. On Mondays we don't do and curriculum stuff since the kids tend to just want to play together after the weekend. On Tuesday we do a craft, Wed and Thurs we work on worksheets, etc. and on Fri we do a science activity. I create my own curriculum based on chosen themes.
Doing what I love and loving what I do.

i agree with amanda.....please do not use a stop watch!!!!

i worked in a center where they were sooooo structured, the kids were always missing out on teachable moments. 10:25.....oops, not done with your art? oh well, i have to take it away cause its dance time....12:30 and not done eating? oh well, get on your mat its time to sleep....it was horrible!!!!

here is my summer schedule for right now when the school agers are here, but it is very flexible.

            upon arrival....free play
8:00 i start breakfast...most show up between 8 and 9, so breakfast is a bit spread out, we kinda eat in shifts...
9:00 morning meeting (the SA dont like to call it circle time...too babyish...)
            9:15 diapers and sunscreen
9:30 outside FOR 1 1/2-2 HOURS....they love it. i bring all the centers outside, on top of having regular outdoor play.
11:15-ish we come in and they free play while i do diapers again and get lunch ready.
            12:00 lunch
1:00 nap or quiet time for the SA
            2:30/3-ish diapers, snack and sunscreen
3:30 we're back outside until most are picked up.
4:45/5-ish i only have 2 left, so we come in and they free play while i tidy up for the night.
            5:30 closing time

This schedule is intended to be very flexible. This entire schedule is
based on approximate times and the needs of an age group from 6 weeks to 5 years. I will take into consideration the daily weather, childrens interest in the set forth activities, and the moods of the children. Bathroom trips and diaper changes are always done before and after nap and also as needed.

                6:00-8:30: Welcome and morning transition
educational television programs may be made available at this time
                8.00-8:30: Breakfast
school age children leave on the bus
8:30-10:15: Planned activities ~ circle time ~ story time
                10:15-10:30: Morning snack
10:30-12:00: Free time or outdoor play
nap or rest time where age appropriate
                12:00-1:00: Lunch
prepare for, eat and clean up
1:00-2:00 outdoor play or free time

2:00-4:00: Nap time or quiet time
television may be offered at this time for the older children
                4:00-4:30: Afternoon snack
4:30-5:30: Outdoor play or free time
                5:30-6:30: Dinner
prepare for, eat and clean up
                6:30-8:00: Indoor activities
