This kid is driving us all mad slowly....
I have a four year old, who I'm pretty sure has some sort of issue. He SCREAMS all day long. Usually out of nowhere, he bursts into unbelievable crying - at leat 15 times a day. When asked whats wrong, he just shakes his head or says "it HURTS!!" but nothing more.
He screams:
-at lunch time
-at naptime
-outside time when its time to go in
-when he's tired
-when he gets dropped off
-when its time to go home
-if someone looks at, touches him, brushes past him
-in the potty
...basically anytime there's a transition and at random times in between.
However, he doesn't do this when something extra fun is going on. Ice cream day, fun stories, at the pool - he's happy as a lark. But on regular days, he screams about everything. That's why I don't think anything is actually hurting on him, and when something does hurt, he tells us with words.
He has a good vocabulary and is actually a very smart little boy, but seriously all he does is scream. The only thing that calms him is for you to be very gentle and slow, but thats not always possible with 19 kids and two adults, plus he starts right back up.
His home life is a wreck, I wont go in to details. His mom seems to have some cognitive issues herself, but she says she's trying to get help for both of them. However, she "can't find the paper" or "lost the lady's phone number" or something so it isn't happening yet.
Terming does not even apply here. Has anyone had experience with a child like this?
