    When a DCK leaves

    Hello all.

I am fairly new at daycare. I have been running my in home daycare for about 3 and half years.

So far I have only had one family leave and that was due to DCM not wanting to pay me for sick days which she was required to pay me for.

Well, now I have had DCG for almost a year and now DCPs will be taking her to preschool. I knew this plan in advance when I started watching DCG.
She was an amazing little girl and I really like her a lot.

Do you give any kind of "goodbye" gift when a child leaves your home?

I don't. But gifts are given at various other times throughout the year.

I have made little pictures for dcks with all of their friends handprints on them, with a sign that says "my friends," with everyones names under their handprints. you could even make a really nice one on canvas if you wanted. But I only do nice things like that if the family has been great. I termed the most awful family recently and didn't send them with a gift. They wouldn't have appreciated it anyway.

You could make here a little memory book. Pictures of her and her friends and yourself, in a nice little cover you either made, or she makes with you.

Write a little note on the inside cover about her best qualities and how much you've enjoyed getting to know her.
