Not Wanting to Get Up From Nap

OK besides my bunch not wanting to eat, they also aren't wanting to get up from nap either.

We go down around 1:00-3:00 and then I start waking them up for snack. Heres the issue with this problem-no one is ready to get up and all they want to do is sit and cry at snack time because they are still tired. So then no one is eating afternoon snack.

I'm thinking of talking to the parents and just letting them know since its becoming a struggle they will just get to rest till their bodies are ready to wake up.

    What do you ladies think?

I put snack on the table after nap and it's available as they are ready. But I never wake anyone up unless a parent has specifically requested it (and then only after my scheduled nap time is over).

I thought about this but some of mine will sleep till they get picked up. So I'm not sure if I should make the snack just to have to throw it away. Also, I can't count it on my food program as it would have never been really offered to the child if they were picked up from napping.

One mom ok'd it whole heartedly about child sleeping till they wake up! So I'm going to go with this and see where it takes us. I'm thinking they are just absolutely wiped out from all the playing, walking, activities we do in the mornings.

I don't wake them but I do start opening doors and curtains when I kinda need them to be up for snack or whatever so they wake gradually and in a good mood.

Could you move lunch earlier so they get more sleep?
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

I only wake them up if it's close to pick up. Most of mine wake up at 3:15 and pick up is at 4:00. So if it's 3:45 and they are still sleeping I will wake them.

Everyone naps in the playroom so they normally just wake up anyways from the noise.

I'd probably not make them snack until they wake up and if it's too close to pick up them just tell mom/dad that they just woke up and haven't had snack yet.

ditch the afternoon snack, unless they wake up. I don't wake up till 330pm. try waking them up a half hour later, that may work. I have some that sleep till 4pm some days. If they want to sleep let them sleep. I also wouldn't discuss it with the parents, because it may back fire on you. I have one whose mom doesn't want me to nap because they want her to go to sleep at 730pm instead she goes to sleep at 930pm. But she is so tired here that she is the first one to go to sleep, I'm not keeping up a tired grouchy child so she can go to sleep for her parents early.

                    too

My nap time is roughly 12:30-3:30, and almost every day, they wake up just before it's officially over. Once in a while, though, they sleep longer. The earliest pick ups are 4:15, so if it gets to be close to 4, I go make some noise. That gives me enough time for a quick diaper change/potty trip and a snack.
