    Another Washing Machine Episode!!!

    MANCHESTER, N.H. -
A 5-month-old boy on Manchester's West Side was seriously burned after falling into a washing machine around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said the accident happened when one of the baby's parents was changing him on top of a changing table next to the family's washing machine.

Officers said his parent got distracted for a few seconds and the boy wiggled into the open washing machine that was filling with water.

Investigators estimate the water temperature was 150 degrees.

The baby suffered second-degree burns and was transported to Boston Children's Hospital by medical helicopter.

Police said it appears to be a terrible accident.

Officials said they are not looking at criminal charges. They aren't releasing address at this time

Oh my goodness! That is horrible They must feel so bad. What a strange place for a changing table. When my DS was about 8-9 months I decided that I would make the top of his dresser his changing table. I had the top dresser drawer open because his wipes and such were in there. DH brought him in to be changed and I said "Keep an eye on him really quick while I grab something. Don't take your eyes off of him he could roll!!" And next thing I know, DH turns to look at the TV in the living room and DS rolls right into the drawer.

Had the drawer not been open, it could have been a lot worse. Needless to say: He is changed on the floor now on a changing pad!

I never used a changing table, always the floor with a pad at my home. I did change my daughter on an air matress in our tent when we were camping when she was maybe 5 or 6 months old. She rolled onto the floor of the tent...scared me half to death even though it was only about 12-15 inches. It only takes a moment. My heart goes out to the poor parents and expecially to the poor baby. They are going to live with the guilt of this for a long time to come. Thinking about my front loader washing machine...so much safer since it locks when you start it.
