Has anyone here ever used priceline to negotiate an airline fare? If so, pros and cons? Your experience?

Thanks...I want to fly my son and his GF from CA (they live in Aptos) to Wisconsin while my other son is home on leave this week and next. Trying to figure out the cheapest way.
It looks like I can save about $100 or so if I 'bid" on priceline, but it's kind of scarey to commit a credit card number to something you don't have all the details of until you pay...Comment

I've never used it for airfare. I did use it for our trip to Chicago last month. I was able to score a great downtown hotel for 125/night when the averages for downtown hotels was 200-300/night. Plus, we actually got upgraded to a king suite once we got there! I'm now a fan of Priceline. lovethisComment
