    Kitchen Sets

Based on experience your past experience......At what age do kids start playing with (as in pretend cooking etc./not just opening and closing the doors) with the kitchen sets?

    Thank you for your help.

2-2 1/2, depends on the kids. If you have older ones that model the pretending behavior, the younger ones will joint in a little earlier. If you have a whole group of toddlers, there's a lot more door banging. I HATE that!

I found that as soon as babies started sitting, they loved to be in front of the cupboard of the kitchen set, playing with pots. Shortly after a year or so, pretending to eat emerged, followed soon after by offering "bites" to grown ups. 18 months--big fans of stirring, "eating," offering "food." More "cooking" with 2-year-olds.

My kitchen set is in my kitchen, so there's a lot of copying what I'm doing.

That is a great idea to put it in the kitchen! My kids started playing with it as soon as they were up and walking! You will find some kids really like it from the beginning, whereas others never really get interested.
