    Left/Right Handedness

do you see a lot of left handed children? All of the kids in mycare including my own 2 are right handed except for 4 1/2 yr dcb. So it's a bit challengeing trying to get to write as I am right handed also and have no idea how to hold a pencil in my left hand. My dad,mom and sister are left-handed, I'm the only "right" one in my family: ) I know in the "old" days, teachers tried to turn lefties into righties.

I've never had to deal with any lefties but I know my sister helped a lot of her nieces and nephews on her husband's side with this site:

Help for Left Handed children, their parents and teachers Who are we? We are committed to improving teaching for our left-handed children in schools, not only in handwriting, but in other areas of the curriculum, where unnecessary hurdles and lack of guidance are hindering our children's progress, often leading to them developing awkward and inefficient
    Proverbs 12:1
A reminder to myself when I resist learning something new.

Both of my daughters are lefties, they pretty much had to teach themselves to write. I helped as much as I could and they just eventually figured it out and both have very nice handwriting now.
