    Pooping During Nap

DCB is 3 and has been potty trained for a bit. He rarely tells me when he has to go potty. He's getting there with communicating that he has to go. However, pooping is another issue! It's kind of always been an issue here with him, but he does fine at home. Lately he's pooping in his underwear after he's put down for nap. DCM has talked to him. I have talked to him. I'm just at a loss as of what else to do. I'm thinking of making him wear a diaper (I still have his stash from before potty training) or DCM can bring pull-ups in. He is here part-time, so that may play a factor into feeling comfortable pooping here.

    Any suggestions?

absolutely put him back pullups! Are you SURE that he is actually fully potty trained at home though?

I have a Kindergartener who was like that as a preschooler. He always had difficulty with pooping, even as a baby. When he was potty training he would hold his poop even more...then he would fall asleep. It seemed to relax him enough that his little body just took care of it, kwim?

It took awhile before he felt comfortable enough in his potty skills to go when he needed to; even then he would sit in there F-O-R-E-V-E-R, !

I used to just have him slip on a pull up at naptime until he had control.

Yes, I'm positive he's fully trained at home (confirmed by a non-parent family member, not just DCM).

I talked to DCM and she feels terrible that he's doing this and is fine with diapers at nap so I don't have to deal with poopy underwear. I cloth diaper, so it's not a big deal to deal with the underwear, just a hassle. I really think he's just an at-home pooper, so we'll wait it out and see if he can get comfy doing it here I just felt bad putting him back in a diaper, but I guess that's what I have to do. Thanks ladies!
