Check your state websites! Ours has changed so you can NO longer use the spray on kind of sunscreen. They also have changed it so that all the children can use the same kind if provided by the provider. Every two hours it has to be applied and from my understanding written down as its considered a non prescription form of medication. (double checking on that because that may just be for certified not registered).
Changes In Using Sunscreen!!!!

We're not outside for extended periods of time and I refuse to use sunscreen on the kids. Some of the parents are helicopter parents, and I refuse to have any kind of incidents due to using sunscreen.
It must be applied prior to the children coming.- Flag

I have that also (must be applied by parents before coming) but then I find out it has to be applied two hours after that and two more after that!!! So if we even go outside for 15 min and it has been two hours since parent application I HAVE to reapply it again. Each day is a fresh start
Never look back on regrets

We only get one shot at this!!

How long is your time outside? Even a few minutes outside requires sunscreen to protect little ones' skin from burn or irritation.
Here is a great site that explains what you should and shouldn't look for in a sun screen and how to use it properly. The site also says that you should never skip the sunscreen though.... http://www.confessionsofadrmom.com/2...n-safety-tips/
I require parents to apply the first application BEFORE attending too. I reapply as the day goes on.
My state has no regulation in our licensing rules and policies regarding sunscreen at all.- Flag

I have no idea what our regs are on this, but I have the parents apply every morning before care and then I re-apply after nap. I have had a couple of parents who have "forgotten" too many times so I am going to have them leave a bottle here and then hand it to them in the mornings when they tell me they forgot yet again. Maybe when they realize that they are going to apply wheter they are here or at home, they will start to remember.- Flag

Now that it is getting quite hot outside, 15 minutes in the afternoon.
None of the parents put it on their children prior to the summer beginning. Now that summer is here, they are applying it. Elementary teachers do not apply sunscreen to the children prior to taking them to afternoon Recess (which is longer than the afternoon Recess time we have).- Flag
