Had My First Surprise Food Program Visit At It Was A Little Strange: Or Was It Normal

So we where outside when the woman came, this was not my usual food rep. She was 15 min early for snack she did say se thought she was early.

Then I told her we where having snack outside today and she asked when you do serve snack what will it be I told her pumpkin muffins and Honeydew.

She said she was not in the office for the last several days but noticed that I had not updated my menu in MMK. I told her that I write it done on the

forms they want it done on and in put it latter. She asked if I was keeping up with that and then she had me sign her report and was on her way. This

seams a little strange to me as she never even saw my paperwork or food, She did not even come in the house not that I wanted to take he in the

house we where having water play with the blow up pool.

Mine has done similar things before. If I have mine written down though she does ask to see them. But she has asked what is coming up for the next meal and hasn't looked at it. So it seems normal to me!

I have had this happen once, only becuase the state was short staff. Almost the same exact thing happen to me. We were coming back from the park and had not even gone in the house yet. She asked me what we were having, who was here and praised me for keeping up on my food log on line.

I think because every time she comes to my house she already knows what to expect from me. I am always on mark with everything, so I think she does not expect less from me.

I would feel good knowing that she trust you and did not need to have you show proof

That would be an odd visit here, too. We always have to sign the form they fill out to document the visit at least. I've never had them not review the paperwork, even if we were outside when they came.

I've had one visit from them so far. It was in April and I joined in October so it was right at 6 months. She did see what we were eating and wrote it down. I was actually serving one extra food that was left over since it was Friday so they all ate part of the required meal and the not-recorded part of the meal was still on their plates but the lady believed me that I served it.

She then looked at my attendance sheet and menu posted for the whole week because I only update on weekends so she wasn't updated-to-date until she got here. I had to sign a paper and she gave me a copy. She gave us worksheets for the kids and a paper for the parents saying she was visiting today.

If you didn't get any type of paper to keep, I would at least call and ask how it works because you were never visited before and wanted to know if you were suppose to get a paper and keep it at that. I wouldn't worry about it though just enjoy your weekend!

I think maybe each state is different. I am also in CA like the Op and I have never gotten a copy of what I signed. I've been on the food program for 9 years.

Wow! If my visits had been like that, I'd probably still be on the program. I had a lady from H3LL. If things weren't perfect when she came, I got docked for the whole month. She even interviewed the kids, asking them their names and ages and also asking them what they had for breakfast, lunch, and snacks.

Yikes! No wonder you dropped the food program. My kids would lose me mine under those conditions, for sure. I have one girl who can't answer a question truthfully if the answer is looking her right in the face! She's been known to tell me the wrong *NAME* when I ask her!

My food program rep already E-mailed me because of the visiti. So apparently this is normal for the area. But, the issue of me not recording in MMK everyday is a problem. SO that will need to be "solved"
