    Should I Contact State

I know of a couple about to open a home daycare. The male of the couple boasts about having multiple personalities. He says they were documented when he was a minor. He also boasts that it is on his police record, in another state, that he may not be handcuffed behind his back because he will black out and possibly kill someone.

I don't think anyone like this should be allowed near, muchless help run a daycare of any kind.

I would think that during the licencing process,,, the state would find out. FBI finger printing would show that he has a record...

This is true. Or maybe he's just a big liar, liar, pants on fire. But I'm not sure that is any better, seeing as he thinks it is cool.

Anything that happened while he was a minor will not be on his background check. If his police record occurred as an adult, then it definitely should show up.

Remember the daycare provider that LEFT her house during naptime and returned to see the house on fire? The fire took 3 or 4 innocent children's lives and badly burned a couple more. Turns out she had committed arson as a teenager, she set FIRE to her high school, and it didn't show up on her background check b/c she was a minor.

We don't know what state these people are in, so we don't know if they need to be licensed. And let's not forget that some people operate their daycare illegally unlicensed.
Also records of minors are sealed. So unless this goof has done anything questionable as an adult, nothing would show up.

To answer your question, YES, contact the state! Even if this guy is making everything up it's always better to be safe than sorry when it comes to children's safety. I would not want my child in the hands of someone boasting about having dangerous mental issues!

I am doubtful that they will do anything about it. Unless you have physical PROOF of this information, they will not do anything about it.

What calling will do is start a file on them.

So yes, I would call and report it if they indeed are planning to open a daycare.

I didn't think about that. I would call the state... I have done it in the past so, I would not see any problem doing it again.
