Hi. We are looking for a sitter/nanny for our newborn son. I will be returning to work in mid-July. He will be 6 weeks old at that time. The hours we need care are not your typical Mon.-Fri. hours. My husband and I are both restaurant managers and work a lot of weekends. We need someone available Mondays from 6 a.m. till about 5 p.m. On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays the times would vary throughout the day depending on our schedule. We are open to someone coming to our home to sit or bringing our son to you, if you live close. In our home we have a cat and dog. We also are looking for someone willing to care for our son even if he is sick... calling off work is really not an option for us. Pay is negotiable.

Well... they want a Nanny 4 days a week if I read that right. They will pay well for it I'm sure. If the child is sick on Tues., Wed., Thurs. then Mom/Dad can take care of it.- Flag

I was a nanny. This is part of the gig. Nannies do care for sick kids in the childs own home. I was paid well by a family who had jobs wherethey couldn't call out. And I worked in a restaurant as well so I understand why they can't just not show up.- Flag

The title of the ad suggested that they were looking for a sitter, not a nanny. It wouldn't have caught my eye otherwise.Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!- Flag

I always wonder why they have children when they aren't willing to care for them. I want my babies home with me if they are sick, not at a sitters. The nanny sounds like the answer.I see little people.- Flag

I know many won't agree with this, but my opinion is that it is always a parent's responsibility to care for a sick child, no matter the situation. Yes, nannies get paid very well and yes, it's difficult to miss time from work - but this is something that parents need to take into consideration when planning for kids.- Flag
