How Often Do You Paint?

We just did a remodel of out entryway. Additionally I painted our entry, up and down step areas, all handles, all trim etc. Looks nice but Im sure it won't last. Got me thinking how often do you paint?

We just built our house last summer and moved in the end of July. It already needs new paint! But they used the flat paint, which means nothing washes off. I will replace with eggshell finish, then I can wipe those smudges, markers, and crayons off the walls!
