    3 AM really ….

So at 3 AM my husband and I heard a load thud and what we thought was the alarm on the van going off. Whent outside to check it out and it was the

van across the street being re-posed. The very annoying thing is that the alarm never did stop and tow truck just left with the alarm blaring and

headed down the road. I hop that a cop stopped him. It was 3 AM. If I was thinking I would have taken a picture so that I could call in the noise complaint but it was 3 AM.

I suppose they have to get it when the owner is not hiding it. And they would need th key to turn it off.
    It:: will wait

Repo's are done in the middle of the night. There's less chance of interference from the owner (former owner?).

A lady that I used to work with was killed last year when she got between her car being repo'd and the tow truck.

I know it's annoying when something makes that much noise in the middle of the night. We had some guy shooting a rifle at the neighbor homes at 3:00 a.m one morning (then he shot at the cops.. dummy) Helecopters flew over the house from 3:30 in the morning til 1:00 the next afternoon. It was a Saturday night too, so I could have slept in. By 6:00 a.m we were all out front complaining to each other. Much whining.

But... sometimes they need to repossess vehicles when the driver least expects it, plus, there needs to be some knowledge of where the car will be when. They can't afford to keep coming back to see if the car is there. So, if they know the car will be there in the middle of the night, they grab it then.

The owner KNOWS it's being repossessed. So, he shouldn't have turned on the alarm. It's not like you can go without paying your bills and expect to keep that which you do not pay for.

So, in the end, you should be mad at the neighbor for screwing up his credit and your night's sleep.

I had a repo guy come to my home when I first moved to NO cali at about 4AM. He was looking for the previous owner. My husband was at work and I was freaked out. I did not open the door and told them to leave or I was calling the cops. They continued to stay at my door and I called the police.

The police came out and verified them as well as I was not the person they were looking for.

I think its quite common. Don't be mad at them, be mad at your irresponsible neighbor for not making the right decisions....It is their fault it all occurred in the first place.

For the record I am mad that it took 25 min to turn the alarm off. I would think the repo man would know how to do that. The neighbors could have atleast tried

to hide the car parked it in the carpot and turned the whells making it very difficult to tow with out a key or with out damaging the building ot choose a different bill to

not pay like the credit card that company has a lot less they can not to come after you.

Um, seriously? This repo guy was just doing his job. You missed out on some sleep - is this really worth being SO incredibly upset about?

I also find it disturbing that you would encourage someone to hide their vehical or not pay another bill to avoid car repossesion....

The law is the law. If you don't pay for something you don't deserve it.
