How Do You Thank You DCF?

I LOVE one of my dcf! Great, funny kids, great parents who respect and admire me (THEIR WORDShappyface). Today, I have had enough of my other dcf so instead of being a grump I feel the need to thank my one amazing dcf for all the hard work with their kids, always treating me respectfully, following my rules etc.

I am going to write a hand written thank you. Nothing spectacular but I do want them to know I appreciate them.

As a parent if I received a handwritten note telling me what you just said, I would be very touched.

I would be really happy to hear from someone else (especially the person who sees and cares for my child second to me) that I was/am a good parent would be awesome!

I think like we (providers) say, it is simply nice to be appreciated and recognized for our efforts and hard work. I couldn't care less if I get birthday or Christmas gifts, just a thank you once in a while hits the spot so I think the same would be true for parenting and the client-provider relationship!

Wonderful, positive post! I have been known to tell my "favorite" parents on a regular basis (in person) that they are great parents and express that I enjoy working with them raising their child(ren). I have also purchased "couple" gifts (movie passes, gift certificate to resteraunts or dollars off couple massages, etc) to really wonderful parents who keep me going when I cannot stand the others

I do a appreciation picnic in the summer time. All entertainment and food is providers by me and my family. It's always on a Saturday and usually early afternoon.
I tell my parents that it's my way of thanking them for trusting me with their child/children which allows me to do my job at home. Which allows me to spend more time with my own family.
              This years picnic........Hawaiian luau.

Fun! Do the kids behave at this event? I would love to do something like this but my one dcf lets their kids do as the please (EVERYWHERE) so they are terrible when mom/dad come to drop off or pick up. I can only imagine the trouble I would have trying to enforce the rules during a picnic. Makes me sad, I would love to do it.

I do something similar, but I do it at the end of the summer to send everyone off to school. I do it the Thursday before Labor Day, after daycare hours. It's always been a big hit around here; all the parents seem to appreciate it.

Yes usually the kids do behave. But I also have enough activities planned for them. Rent the huge bouncy tent, have games, make cotton candy and snow cones, and then let's not forget the food. Have even hired a few of my sons teenage friends to help watch the kids so that the parents can enjoy themselves as well. It's a great time for the parents to meet the other parents of the children that are playing with their child. As always been a great time.happyfacehappyface
