Bad Cough And Congestion!

Parents brought in their 5 month old with a pretty bad cough. He had it Friday and now it's really deep and wet, sounds like a car turning over. Its gotten worse since friday. I had no issue with the slight cough friday bur suggested he see a doctor if it got worse. Do I send him home? My contract says no sick kids (no unexplained symptoms...ie no deep cough and major weazing in his sleep and congestion with no drs note!

I was sick for 2 weeks with a cold after taking him because he had a cold when he first came and parents didn't take it seriously. He's hard to handle as it is. Add sick to it and me being sick, I am liable to up and quit. Also he's still sleeping in his carseat which never!!!! Happens.


Ugh...I just got my lungs healthy and my daughters cough subsided too! I'm peeved.

Ugh! Unfortunately, I think it's against regulation to leave him sleeping in his car seat. You'd better look that one up.

If he's too ill to enjoy the day then send him home.

That said, they always sound worse first thing in the morning.

I took him out shortly after he arrived. He's just never asleep when he arrives...ever. He cried for a good 2 hours non stop then passed out on me from exhaustion. I held him the whole time. Poor thing was hacking and sputtering and choking. His normal shrill cry was much hoarser. I called his parents and it took them 2.5 hours to get back to me...grr. I told them to keep him home unless he's much better tomorrow and suggested he see a doctor. Hopefully they take him.

Also when mom called me back mom said he was real sick over the weekend but she didn't notice his cough this morning. !!!???!!! What?! And yet he didn't see a doctor?
