I Think I Have One Kid Too Many

Not sure how this happened but im either going to need to tell one of the people on my waiting list no, or find someone to help with my daycare. I didnt think about the ages of the kids but since i can only have so few under age two, i run into a bit of a problem.

Right now my own kids are five, one, and one. They two two in August
My niece is two and my other daycare kid is one, turns two in September

I have one little 8month old girl who is supposed to be coming M-F starting next week, shes on DHS.

And i have another person who has been telling me for the last couple months shes watcing to switch to me, shes with Cherokee Nation, i think her boy just turned two.

I can only have a total of seven with no more than two under two years. I can have six with no more than three under two. I really dont want to turn anyone away so looks like im going to have to hire help for some of the summer time at least still they have birthdays. I only have room for seven other people in my mini van anyway. UGH what do i do now

Turn one away and do the six. Apologize and let them know that you will call them if anything opens up! Then wish them luck in their child care search. Paying an assistant/finding a good one/managing them, etc, will NOT be worth the weekly fee of one child.
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

Dave, weren't you the one who was thinking recently about calling it quits cause you couldn't find kids to watch? If so, that's an amazing turn around Great problem to have. I wish I had that problem!

I'd say if you have someone available to help out that would be great, but I don't know if it would be worth the hassle if you had to pay to get them trained. He in CA it is a huge process to get someone trained and takes months to get them approved, so for me it wouldn't be worth it.

Nothing wrong with letting them know you can't take on more kids because you're adhering to laws!! I'm sure they'd appreciate that explanation.

I agree, I would do the math because I would think it wouldn't be worth the cost of an assistant to have one extra child.

With your two children under two years old you know that's your limit right there - I wouldn't even interview others under 2.
