Downloading Music

What is the best place to download free music onto your ipod or ipad? Simple to use?

I borrow cds from the library and just upload them to my itunes and then transfer to my ipod. I have also created quite the collection of audio books too.

I use an application on my phone. I can save them to the sd card and save them to my computer so they can be downloaded to other devices too.
