    Craigslist Ad

I went in to make a new ad and this is the very first ad on the list.

Hello, I am offering care in my home for the 2 infants the PARENTS MUST BE THE RIGHT FIT for us to have a great Parent/Provider Relationship. My hours are 6am to 6pm will be ok with pick up by 645 with no late fees. I have been a provider for YEARS, I took a break to finish up in Nursing school,,Now that I am almost done, I want to offer my services to anyone needing a daycare provider you can trust. My home is CLEAN, my children are not allowed to sit in front of a TV all day, No tv time UNLESS IT IS THE END OF OUR DAY THAT HOUR OF PICK UP CHILDREN CAN BRING A DVD TO SHARE. OUR DAY IS VERY STRUCTURED, WE GO ON WALKS, EAT HEALTHY MEALS AND SNACKS,,TODDLERS WRITE IN THEIR JOURNALS,,I ENJOY WATCHING THEIR GROWTH IN LETTERS,NUMBERS,AND SHAPES FROM THE DAY THEY START WITH ME ,,I MEET WITH EACH PARENT EVERY 6 MONTHS just to talk about any problems in the care I provide,or concerns with potty training,as well as Social growth..I don't allow the kids to point,,they must TRY and tell me their wants and needs.ALL CHILDREN WILL LEAVE DAILY WITH A TYPED REPORT ON MEALS,DIAPERS,NAP TIME,ANY PROBLEMS,AND A SUPPLY LIST IF THEIR LOCKER IS RUNNING LOW ON DIAPERS AND WIPES, CLOTHING,FORMULA,ECT.The kids bring so much joy to my life, I treat all kids in my care as if I gave birth to them, Santa,The Easter Bunny and ELMO visit us EVERY YEAR..THEY LOOK FORWARD TO IT AS MUCH AS I DO.MY RATE FOR ALL CHILDREN IS $85.00 PER WEEK,,NO MATTER THEIR AGE. With my rate being so low I feel it is more than fair I don't change it based on hours or days.I keep my rates low because I can and I am a mother,,,THE COST OF A CHILD IS EXPENSIVE..the rate for an infant in a center is crazy,,Almost cheaper to work from home. we have a low number of kids not more than 6 at all times..My rate being low does not mean I provide a lower level of care. You could pay 250.00 weekly and have the worst provider ever..my care is EXCELLENT TO ALL CHILDREN IN MY DAYCARE, ALWAYS HAS BEEN ALWAYS WILL BE..IF INTERESTED CALL ME, THE INFANT SPOTS WILL FILL FAST..IF YOUR EXPECTING PLEASE KEEP MY NAME WE CAN MEET SOMETIME AS FOR NOW THE OPEN SPOTS ARE TO BE FILLED ASAP, ..THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU SOON..GOOD LUCK,, FROM ONE MOTHER TO ANOTHER ON YOUR SEARCH FOR QUALITY CARE. E-MAIL OR CALL ME..AT #######

I was thinking the same thing about the yelling part. :: I thought parts were rude, too. And I know that we do look for a perfect fit for our in-home childcare businesses but to actually say it like that in an ad was a bit forward, I think. Hope the kids are all okay while she is busy typing all those reports.

I dunno, I read the words picturing a matronly lady who watched children in her home for for many years without trouble and as the government slowly crept into this business she felt the need to get an education and yet can't stop doing something she has always done (child care) so she is trying to compete with the "new age" providers by placing an ad on Craig's List but darn, these wacky computers are like trying to read a foreign language so she is doing the best she can.

I dunno blackcat... even before the grammar/spelling issues, I had issue with closing time "6 but not really and I don't have late fees" and not allowing kids to point. Plus, I find it funny that she makes a big deal about not having more than 6 kids (that's the law 'round these parts) and charges $85/week...which is $40 LESS than avg around here.

Here's how I heard this part:

Previously I went to nursing school but that wasn't what I expected so I quit that to do daycare. Daycare wasn't what I expected so I quit daycare to go back to nursing school. Now I'm almost done with nursing school I need an income so I'm going to low-ball my rates to quickly fill up and once I finish nursing school I'll probably quit daycare again and find a nursing job. You'd better hurry up and jump on my rates while you still can and while I'm still doing daycare.

Why is she yelling in some parts? I really hate when people type things in all caps. It's weird and aggressive.

How is she going to look after children, structure her day, provide healthy meals to infants and toddlers while ensuring she types out a full report for each child each day? Guaranteed she has 10 children locked in her basement watching tv. or running amuck unsupervised in her back yard. Just my guess.
