Technically, this is not for children. But, it seems to be a great (CHEAPER) alternative to buying one specifically marketed as being a light table for children.
It is 12"x16".
Found this link to make your own. Our local ecfe made one which they use in their sensory table, basically just xmas lights inside of a clear under the bed storage tote. Kids love it, easy to put away too!

even more awesome!!! Im sooo.going to make.that! Im excited!
We LOVE our light table.
I hope everyone can see this link. It's an album on my FB, but it's set to public.
They're just so expensive to buy but I really wanted one. I used a coffee table that had a glass top that I got off my city used site for $10, enclosed the sides, put in some lights, with 1/2 inch clear plexi and 1/4 inch white sign plexi.
I made the one that someone else posted on here recently. It is so easy to make and the kids loved it so I made a second one. It was the one using the under the bed box, silver spray paint, and the battery operated lights. I like the battery ones because I don't have to worry about plugging it in and can move it wherever I want.
