The nose picker

Any strategies on how to get a 3 year to stop picking his nose? He is getting it all over his finger and our toys, it's yucky!! I give him a kleenex all the time but he is addicted to picking his nose. I don't want this all over our furniture and toys, HELP!

I have the picker wash their hands each time. It usually stops quickly. I had a 4 year old that would do this and after the third time at the sink washing his hands, he stopped.

I've tried the hand washing with moderate success but great success with socks on their hands. Dh tube socks up to the shoulders.

Does the child try to take them off? I will give anything a try, I wonder if he will even keep the socks on.
