    Toy Rotation

I have a small home (2000) square feet and am really tired of my house looking like a daycare. We play some of the day in the playroom which is my family room. I decided to try something new. My 11yo son helped me tonight make 5 huge bins of toys one for each day of the week. We left the play kitchen, stuffed animals and strollers in the playroom and will rotate in one tote a day of toys so the children have a variety and I have less clutter. Each tote has toys, puzzles, books, and balls. My family room looks AMAZING!!! We do our arts and crafts in the dining room. We have our sensory table in the dining room and our littlest pet shops in the home theater. I have an awesome fenced in pre-school playground so I hope the parents are put off by the new rotation. Does anyone else do this???

I think this is an excellent idea! don't feel bad to de-clutter and toss stuff out if you to. The parents will be fine with it. Its not like you have less of anything, you just have a new system of organizing. Depending on how your family room is used, maybe you can add in some wall storage or something where the items are visible and there, but not accessible at all times to the kids. that might make the parents feel better. I know I personally LOVE baskets and bins!

That's a wonderful idea. I rotate toys, but not in that organized of a way. My sleep room also has shelving. Every couple of weeks I switch things out for something new to play with.

LOL I am in an upper middle class area with lots of homes around 3000 sq feet and newly built. We are adding on 500 sq ft so I will feel better then... keep in mind I have FIVE children and 8 daycare kids.
