    Sigh

When do they get old enough to get a tissue and wipe their own nose?

I was afraid of that. Mine are still eating the tissue. I should have bought stock in bleach at the rate I'm cleaning stuff around here. ::

        What I do...

If they're under age 3, I wipe it, if they want to try -- great, but I always finish up as it's most likely smeared on their cheek. At age 3 and up, I encourage them to try to wipe their own nose - teaching them how, and if necessary I will help get what they missed. My 5 yr old will sometimes use his sleeve if I'm not paying close attention. Ugh.

Sometimes I think it takes until they are teen-agers and are embarrassed to walk aroung with snot on thier faces. ::

I think they can start around 2-3 yo to wipe thier noses themselves but I think most need help until later than that to get it all and not get it all over thier face and fingers. I have found that even kids that know they need a kleenex will still wipe on thier clothing or, even better , my furniture. Much more handy than a box of kleenex.

I have to agree with Saved4always, it could be until their teenagers. In my opinion, if they aren't taught the correct way at home it could take forever. I have children that can use a tissue all by them self at the age of 18 months, and then i have SAer's who believe still using their shirt is ok.::::::

Mine are 20/21 months. I guess that means that if I'm lucky, I'm halfway there. Oh well, they don't tattle or dig in their diapers, so I guess I should consider myself lucky. ::
