    6 yo Bathroom Accidents

I'm sorry if I should feel bad but I don't. This kid waits until he can't hold it another second and then comes to find me to ask permission to use the bathroom. I quickly tell him, again, that he does not need permission to use the bathroom! Then he forgets how to unlock the door (hook & latch super easy, to keep little kids out), again, and you know the rest. Then to top it all off he has no extra clothes! The rules are that all kids, regardless of age, are to have two complete changes of clothes here.
One time this kid looped his pants because he only likes to poop at home.

If you are asking for advice: Have you asked the parents taken the child to the doctors to rule out medical problems?

As for no extra clothes, I would call the parents to come with extra clothes, then check his bag or send him away at the door if he has no clothes.

In his case of having no extra clothes, I would call his parents to pick up right away. That is really not acceptable for a 6 y.o imo. If there is a possibility of a medical explanation, that should be explored by his parents. Sorry you're having to deal with that, he's way to old for that.

I have a 5 year old who also constantly asks to use the bathroom and I have to constantly remind him that he doesn't need permission - he's been here 2 years. He should know by now.

Thankfully, he doesn't wait until last minute and have accidents though.

I think at age 6, your dcb should also know better. But, there could indeed be a medical issue... perhaps ask if there is a similar issue at home. Also, is this child in school?

Parents are required to provide a spare set of clothing for each child, no matter what age. If I send a child home in their spares, I expect a new outfit to be back no later than the next day... if for some reason I didn't have spares the parents would be called for an immediate pick up. That's the consequence of not following rules
