I was taking a walk with a 13 month old dcb and a 4 month old dcb in the double stroller when 13 m.o. tossed a cup behind him hitting 4 m.o. dcb smakc dab in the forehead. I am about to text 4 m.o. dcm and am dreading her response (she asked if anything happens I just text her because she is a lawyer and can't always asnwer calls). It seems every Friday has been like this... Why Friday? I could handle a Monday like this...........
He Did What?!

That's an unfortunate situation to be in but parent's need to understand that accidents happen and they are GOING TO HAPPEN. We need to learn to be a little bit lighter on ourselves too, we CAN NOT prevent every little accident from happening, it's just not possible. If dcm doesn't understand that her child is going to get hurt from time to time or if she is the "bubble wrap" kind of mom I would be considering terming. I could not work with that kind of stress on my shoulders all the time.- Flag

was it really that bad though? am I wrong in thinking that you should check the kiddo over, soothe them but its not necessary to call? I am assuming this was just a regular plastic sippy, a little bump to the head but nothing major.....- Flag

I personaly would call about any thing regaurding the head. As a parent I have gotten a call because my duaghter tripped and fell the health nurse thought it was nothing talked to my daughter (in 3rd grade at the time) she was dizzy I picked her up and an hour later she could not feel the left side of her face the doctor said her had a mild concusion.- Flag

I would imagine a sippy sup could cause a pretty good goosse egg on the 4 month old. While I agree that an accident report should be written up, I wouldn't call Mom unless immediate medical care was needed. She will find out - why make her worry at work? (Hope she doesn't have photo sessions lined up for next week!)
It was an accident - no way the older child had good enough aim to chuck it backwards and hit dead center. I would take precaution in the future - perhaps one of those binky straps attached to the cup and stroller so it doesn't go flying? Seems to me I used to do something like that for my son so it wouldn't hit the ground if it fell.- Flag
