Daycare Fundraiser ?

I was wondering if any of you have ever done a fundraiser for your daycare ? I am type B and we need a playground. I was wanting to a fundraiser to help with the expense's of the material. If you have ever done one, what kind did you do ? Is it tax deductiable ? I have never done anything like this so I was hoping to get some input and ideas...Thanks !
