It was olive oil and vinegar applied separately that finally did the trick for my kids a few years ago. But it is the nit picking that's most important. No treatment, chemical or otherwise is going to work if you don't nit pick diligently for days.- Flag

Hi Everyone!...I must put my 2 cents in here. A few years ago one of my daycare girls brought lice into my daycare. Needless to say it did spread. I had the same problem with one of the parents and her attitude about lice. She acted as though it was no big deal. Anyway I came across a product that I swear by. I purchased it at Walgreens and it worked FABULOUSLY!!! It was a comb that you go through the infested head with. When it came in contact with a nit or louse it would "zap" it instantly...You could literally see the dead lice in the comb. I highly recommend that any daycare have one!- Flag
