What a Way to Wake Up!

Last week a Mom tells me her husband will be dropping her son off a little early on Tuesday (today) since she is on a trip... I get woken up by the doorbell and hammering on the door at 645! The dad walks in and says 'Sorry I'm late, I should've been here by 630, but I'm running behind.'... Funny thing is, my daycare doesn't start until 730am... And when his wife said a little earlier, I was thinking 15-20 mins earlier than normal... Not almost an hour earlier

My contract states what time I open. If she had told me what time he was going to be here, I would have been fine with it (its only a couple days). But to try and be sneaky like that... The day is just messed, I didn't get an opportunity to get anything accomplished that I normally would this morning... Not even a shower

I agree, what a way to wake up. I like to have at least 30 min by myself to drink my coffee and watch the news after I'm done getting ready.
I had a parent that didn't understand the "contracted" hours, so she assumed that because i open at 6:30 she can bring her child at 6:30am without even telling me even though her contracted time was 7:30, I got woke up as well with her calling me on the phone from my front door. Woke everyone up in my house, I mentioned that I didn't have any kids until 7:30 but said nothing else, after the second time of this I finally told her she needs to call me ahead of time, which is in my contract anyways but explained that I only open at 6:30 for people who are contracted at that time and right now I have no one contracted at 6:30 so call me first, she now does really well with letting me know.

I have also made the mistake of assuming what a parent meant when they said "a little early". Now I dont assume. I ask for a specific time that way I am never surprised when someone shows up.

Oh, my!!! I hope you told the husband you don't open until 7:30. Wow! Sorry your day was messed up as a result.
