Well I just text dad and he is on his way now. but they knew Sat that she suppositly had and ear infection so why not take her to doc over the weekend??? Urg so mad!!!!

I've seen it coming out of eyes from a really bad sinus infection. Has the child been on antibiotic for 48 hours yet?

Me too. We had a sinus infection here this winter where everyone got the goopy eyes. It wasn't pink eye. But I've never heard of it with an ear infection.

My daughter gets gunk coming out if her eye with ear infections. In fact, that's our only sign because she never runs a fever or tugs at Ger ear or anything. Her eye does get a little pink because the stuff irritates it.

I get what others are saying, but for me, without a note from the Dr. saying it was not pink eye I wouldn't take her until she has been on antibiotics of some kind. Even IF it is caused by an ear infection, she should have been looked at over the weekend and I'm sure if her eye is also red, along with the draining, a Dr. would have given her something for it!?

Don't feel badly, pink eye is very contagious and regardless they should have seen a Dr. over the weekend, not taken a guess at what the issue is!

Yes I have a DCG who gets that too. The DR called it a "cold in her eyes" whatever that means. The mom thought for sure it was pink eye but it wasn't. My mom got it as well a few weeks ago.

Today I had a child show up with a bit of goop in her eyes and a cough that she has had for over a week. I lost it. In the last week 3 kids including me have had strep and upper respitory viruses. I said She needs to go to the DR today. Everyone else has gone but her! They took and called me back and she has an ear infection that is so bad it is backing up and causing her eyes to drain. --Never heard of an ear infection doing this but that is what the Dr note said!
