Every Day Increasing Prices

what do you guys think?

Currently gas is $4.33 a gallon and prices are expected to rise to over $5.00 by Memorial Day in May.

My group is very active out in our community all year long and even more so in the summer. After looking over my 2011taxesl, It looks like I will have no choice but to do one of two things.

1. No more activities that require transportation and less activities due to the cost of shipping.
2. Ask for a summer activity fee of $45.00 per child.

Is anyone else needing to do this? If so, how are you dealing with it? I would love to do #2 and tell parents that if they don't want to pay it, then they will need to keep their child home on the days that we have off site activities. But then that is almost every day.

Any other ideas of how I can do this??

I don't provide transportation but if I did, I would ask the parents. I'd bet they'd be ok with you planning activities on site rather than paying more.

even with the onsite activities, it will still cost us more.... have you ordered anything from lake shore or discount lately...everyone is charging fuel sur charges, extra $$$$$$

This is another reason I'm thinking of going flat rate. If you want your child in a childcare its going to have to cost you-know what I mean.

I have ordred a pre made curriculum all year without saying anything to the parents. Next year I'm just using up what I have to weed things out but if I have to do any type of copying it will cost me.

I'm also bound and determined to do more field trips. My little ones will be older so that won't be an excuse anymore.

This all costs money, so I'm still going over it in my head.
