    Just Gotta Walk Away..

    4 month old dcb is a crier on a normal day...so today is extra bad after getting shots. I feel nad leaving him alone to cry, but nothing is soothing him and i'm sure he's tired. Mom may be getting a phone call soon

      He's sleeping already!! Hopefully my 2 year old can stay quiet and not wake him. He's been bored lately cuz I only have my 3 month old and this dcb.

        did mom forget to give some motrin or tylenol before the shots.. if so she needs to come do so when the baby wakes up.
        It:: will wait

          It's actually not recommended anymore because it lowers the vaccine efficacy. I think he likely just needs his mommy

              I don't allow DCK's to attend for 48 hours after imms for that reason (and a few others) but mostly because I know that shots freaking hurt and I would want my mommy too after having such a tramatic experience....

              Poor little ones...

                I agree with Blackcat, except they can come the next day along as they are back to normal.

                  I added this to my contract for next yr. There is such a HUGE risk with any vaccination, with allergic reactions to them!! I will not allow children to come back to daycare after having vaccinations that same day.

                    This is a great idea! My DD had a major allergic reaction to her shots about 1 hour afterward and we had to bring her right back to the DR.

                      Yep, I have that same clause in my policies. For that reason my DC families schedule their kids immunizations on Friday afternoons. This way their 48 hours pass during the weekend and all they miss is the usual afternoon hours on the Friday for the appointment itself. It's a good idea to think about that.
