How Many???

I am a listed home. I can have 3 kids. I just have to have a background check every 2 years and pay a yearly fee of $25. No inspections, no rules, but also, no subsidy kids and no food program.
I would consider becoming registered if I ever moved from here. Right now, my house is 130+ years old and doesn't have central heat. I have no desire to spend the enormous amount of money it would cost to install it at this point in time. There are a few other structural issues that would need to be addressed. Financially, it would take me years to recoup the money to bring it up to licensing codes.
So, I just keep my 3 and everyone leaves me alone. I said that flippantly, but it isn't that bad. I've studied the minimum standards, and I have adopted many of them, because they are good guidelines and most make sense. But, if something doesn't make sense or doesn't really apply to my kids, I can skip it. For example, I don't post menus or plan a strict meal plan in advance because I rarely know who will be here. For example, I had chicken casserole planned for Tuesday. If I had followed through, it would have been wasted because I had no kids. I don't do fresh muffins on a one child morning. But, I follow what feel important.- Flag

I never wanted to watch more than 6 children at a time so I was always legally unliscensed.

here only centers are "licenced". home daycares are "registered".
I was registered for years, but let it expire. You don't need to be here and I find the program in my area to be seriously lacking. I will keep the rest of my comments about it to myself.- Flag
