I have one we call "Jersey Boy" because he has the cutest twang to his speach and although it sounds like an East coast accent, he is born and raised here in MN.

We have lots of nicknames here too, my older daughter was infatuated with the muppets as a young child. So she has given the kids each their own muppet name. They wouldn't always be considered nice or based on their strengths, but they definately fit. I think some parents have sometimes been a little defensive of some of the nicknames the child has given, but they learn to find the humor in it. The kids just love their nicknames, even if they dont understand why they received it.
My husband has nicknames for some of the parents (that they have no idea about). Lets see there is Miss Thing, Miss Piggy, Cousin It, Erkle, and Fresh Prince to name a few.
The other thing is my son (10 yrs) started this thing when one of the kids would barely hurt themselves, they would always be a little too dramatic. He would say "Don't be such a sissy-la-la" The DCkids have used it now. Not all the time, but usually when it is totally fitting and absolutely hilarious. Thanks to my son, they have totally cut down on the boo-boo drama!
One of the dCm said that she had been upset at her husband for something for a few days and one day after dinner she was kind of complaining to her husband about all the extra work she had to do now. Her 3 yr old son, says "Mom's being a sissy-la-la" She said, she couldnt help it but crack up because she was totally caught whinning!- Flag
