So I officially started requiring my dd to sit on the potty during normal diaper changing time and wearing training panties yesterday. She had never peed on the potty....that is until 1 hour ago happyfacehappyfacehappyfacehappyface .
She kept getting frustrated while on the potty, saying "it's too tight!" So I figured she has to relax one way or another. After having dry panties after 2 hours, I set her up on the toilet with her water cup and the shower/tub dripping. Then I redirected her thoughts to random things (what she ate for meals, what she did today), and ta da, she peed like a pro! I was so excited that we cheered, sang, gave hugs and kisses, called grandma, and gave her a piece of candy. I admit, we went way overboard, but this has been a long time in the waiting (I have been trying to potty train her for a little less than a year now). I almost cried myself!!
I know this doesn't mean she is potty trained by any means, but the fact she actually knows to pee in the potty is a huge step IMO!
Tomorrow I plan on having her run around the house sans clothing since we don't have any dck's.
