Thought I would share my rediculous morning so at least someone can get some humor out of my day.
It started out like any other morning. (Well, almost- dd3 slept in our room last night since she was up late throwing up all night). DH left for work, and the daycare kids started pouring in.
I got a call from DH this am that his family from out of town will be over for dinner tonight at 6:00. Great, I think to myself. I am not prepared at all. I have no dinner made, have not gone to the store, and the house is clean, but not "dh's family is coming over for dinner clean," kwim? I suggest going out to dinner, but no one wants to spend the money.
So I begin to search for something to cook. I decide on a pasta dish and chicken- staples that I fortunately always have on hand, meanwhile managing 6 kids. As I am cooking, I have one little hanging off of me, while the others occupy themselves with play doh. I am feeling under control. Then, DH calls and asks me to call his cousin to discuss side dishes- as I am talking to him and cooking, and supervising the kids, the little I am holding has a diaper explosion. My side and pants are now covered in liquid poo. Great.
I take the little to give her a bath, all the while listening out for the others and praying that they dont get play doh all over my house. 'Just as I get her undressed, dcg calls out that she has to go potty. I am potty training 3 toddlers right now so I must run to get her- a she JUST started telling me she has to go and I want to reinforce it. I get her to the potty, and the little pees on me and the floor.
After bath, little goes down for a nap and I finally can change my clothes. I change and flip over the laundry. The other kids, thankfully, are still playing play doh quietly, however dd and dcb decided to make "beards" out of the play doh, and it is now all over their hair. :
:
I finish picking the play doh out of their hair just as my timer dings for the pasta. I mix everything together and finally have the food prepared enough to stick in a crockpot. Everything is now under control. Just as I sit down, (literally, the second I sit down), the other little dcb wakes up from his morning nap and lets out a big yell, waking up my other little too!
All that by 9:15am.
I still have to clean the bathrooms, sweep, and get the dinner table ready. I would love a shower, because I smell like poop despite changing my clothes, but I doubt that will happen before they get here. Looks like it will be a baby wipe "shower" day
! No breaks for me today!
