    How Should I Go About....

Changing my late fee. In my handbook I feel (looking back) I should have charged a heftier late fee. I stated that it would $10.00 for each or any portion of a half hour. I would like to change this to be at least $10.00 for every 15 min late. How should I do this?

Write up either a new contract with that change, or an ammendment to your contract. Send it home and give the parents a deadline where they must sign or find new childcare. Always give a deadline so they know that this change is not optional.

My late fee *regardless of a phone call or text to inform me* is $1 per minute per child. No grace period. If they want to prearrange extra care, it's a set amount for each 30 minute clock. They have to request it at least 24 hours in advance and I get to answer yes or no. If it's during hours other kids are here, the fee is less than if it's later than I am normally done.
