Im currently sitting on the floor with a dcb, talking about random stuff when I notice the jeans AND underwear he's wearing came out of.my emergency box, months ago
If he has spares there, I would definitely change him out of YOUR clothes and keep 'em. Either tell the parents that he got really messy and needed changed, or tell them the truth (with a sunny, happy, "isn't this funny?! ::" disposition)--"Haha, I noticed that Johnny was wearing the clothes you borrowed several months ago, so I changed him. Thanks for returning them!!"
eta: I try to dress kids in the opposite gender spares if I have to loan out clothes. This usually ensures I get them back straighaway since the stand out in the laundry.
I dont even want them back at this point...the jeans were so grubby and I dont even want to see what the undies look like
The last accident he had, I wasn't willing to send him home in anything beside a flowered pull-up and sweats with hearts on them...never got those back either.
This isn't even the first time...I guess they just consider them donations to dcbs wardrobe. I have asked begged and pleaded for them to bring spares or at least return the borrowed ones...nothin doin.
