So I gave mom notice yesterday, had DH go put money in the checking acct yesterday from savings.... Had her a check waiting, and a detailed reciept saying exactly which reciepts were affected but the refund, exactly what dates were covered, etc,...How she is paid up until the 27th. and that is the last date of the two week notice,.... had her sign a copy. So she tells me that She starts the new place on the 24 so the last day I will have her is the 21. Yippee!!! I only have 5 days of being open by 4 am!!!

4a.m.?? Wow that is early!! So glad for you...I have let a family go that was the biggest headache for me and it was a complete relief when they were gone!!

Hooray for you!! Did you ever find out if that money goes back to her company though? Or if they said she could get the $$$ and use it towards her new daycare? I don't know if you discussed this in the other thread or not.

I gave her a very detailed reciept,. included copies of the reciepts that the money covered, voided them, had her sign it and reminded her that she had to return the money to her flex account or she would be in trouble with irs. She is like,.. huh? I said yes,.... that is all you with your flex, your flex company and I have never had communication, Ive not recieved money from them, I only have given you reciepts for the cash you give me. Im not responsible for your taxes,... its your income and a program that you are using,.. YOU have to deal with them. Not me. Im not claiming it, I have a reciept signed by you saying that I returned the money to you and because it is pre tax you have to either pay the penalty or the tax whatever their policy is but its all you. She is like,.. well,.. I thought the money was just mine,...
I said,.. well...... you have to pay taxes on it. she said she would handle it. and I left it at that.

The money her company paid was for earlier in the year and just took forever to get here,... so I refunded the money "she "paid. canceled the reciepts made out for the cash money she gave me. Not the money "they" paid. does that make any sense?

Oh okay ... makes perfect sense now. You were reimbursing her for the money she paid you while the money from her flex account got paid to you. I love how you pointed out that she has to deal with everything. That's great. Congrats on a good end.
