Making Pretzels with the SA kids today! :)

My SA kids are all here an extra 1 hour on wednesdays because school ends an hour early every wednesday for the teachers to prepare lessons and attend meetings. The kids normally drive me nuts on wednesdays because it is out of their normal routine of snack and then outdoor/indoor play so I have decided that every wednesday I am going to plan out a 1 hour long activity for them to do to keep them busy.
Today we are making pretzels ! This should be interesting! I got cinnamon sugar, nutella and dill popcorn spice for seasoning choices.

While on the subject, does anyone have any great afterschool project ideas for the 7-10 set?

That is such a cool idea! One project I had my 8 yo dd do was make a stained glass candle holder. So easy peasy! I had her put colored tissue paper on a jelly jar with white glue. Kept her busy for a good 45 minutes. A couple of good sources for activities is education.com and Family Fun (magazine and website).

Thanks AmyLeigh! I love the idea of making a candle holder! Especially now that you can buy those little battery operated tealights, they could put it in their room or make one for mom for Mother's Day.
