Rate ?...For Decreasing Rate Due To Age

    Hello,

For those who base their rates by age when the rate is due to decrease, due you re-due the fee agreement having dcp re-sign. Are due you just send a notice of the change home.

If anyone has a sample letter/agreement they use to notify the parents please share.

    Thanks so much...

Oh, BTW I'm totally changing to one fee across the board! I put myself in a whole with this age-decrease-rate-crap. I have two kids one family birthdays are in the same month, I'm loosing $100 a month with this one family at myself.

    Just my opinion..

Yes they are less work, BUT they eat more and can cause bigger issues. Plus, larger kids don't nap so you have to entertain them for that much more time.

Answering your question, i'd probably write a letter (if I were doing rate-by-age) saying you'd increase by whatever amount, starting when they re-sign the agreement. So they can get prepared

any major changes in contracts that reflect new hours, days or pay, I always redo the contracts and have them resign.

I am in the same boat. Everyone here seems to charge different rates for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, etc so, like a sheep, I did too. Grrrr. It makes no sense financially.

For all new families that is no longer an option. One rate, across the board. Like it or lump it. For current ones, I just have an addendum to their contract that they sign.

My parent handbook is my contract so I dont reprint the whole contract (5 pages) to change hours or rates.

I dont have a form letter I just type up something like so

The following is an addendum to the current contract.

          The section reading 1. >FS:LDKFJSDFJ:SLKDFJS:KDJFS:LKDJFSLKSSMDLFSKDJF

          will now read

          1. a;sldkfajsfalskdfjasdlfkajsdlkf

          Effective _________________

          Parent signature _______________________ Date _________________
          Parent signature _______________________ Date _________________

          Provider signature ______________________ Date _________________

I also say in my letter that it needs to be signed by such and such date otherwise it will be taken that you do not agree to the contract change and the last date of care will be ____________.

It's the norm in my area to charge diffrent rates depending on age... but I don't. I only keep 5-6 at a time so I depend on making the exact same income from month to month!
