Never again will I allow blankies or stuffies or anything after seeing how disruptive it can get here. Nannyde is right, it is usually about the parents not the children. The dcg I termed was OCD about her blankie but only because mom fed into it. Her almost 6yo brother "had to have one too" (not really, he didn't care about it but dcm would bring his blankie and a stuffie each day for him to have after kindy and insisted he needed them).

    Never, ever again.....

I have said many things to her- working on him with sitting up, walking, and now it is using a spoon. he is going to be 2 very soon. He doesn't attempt to use his own spoon yet. She thinks it is cute when he says little words, mostly just babbles like a 1 yr. old. he says probably 10 different words and that is it.

Wow a 2 yr old is too "old" for a lovey or a soother? Yikes! I don't see anything wrong with it at all.

I understand wanting to stop the throwing game for sure and some have given you great advice but to take away a lovey completely for no reason other than they are "too old" is just plain mean IMO
