    Noticing a Trend??

Most of my new families that I have, have only been with me about 3 months. Everyone has followed all of the rules very well and I have had no issues..

All of a sudden in the last week, ALL Of my families are starting to fall off the wagon. Showing up 20 min before scheduled shift, not calling until 10am to say they are not coming, showing up late and etc.

Anyone else every see this? I hate having to be the bad guy to start enforcing the rules that I just went over 3 months ago....

I find that having to enforce the rules is really all part of my daily interactions with parents. It seems someone is always trying to slip something by or doing something thinking it is only once or I won't notice.

Correcting or redirecting these kinds of things is all pretty much second nature at this point. Even my best parents have to reminded once in a while.

Even the best family will start slipping and will not catch themselves. Enforcing policies can be an ongoing thing, so dont feel bad. Many times, parents are being sneaky or ill intended, they just dont know that you care about the infraction unless you speak up. If they drop off early and you say nothing, then it is not a big deal to them because by your actions (or lack of action), you are showing that it is okay. People arent mind readers so you have to stay consistent about speaking up and being ready to enforce fees or other consequences.
