I'm sure it wasnt me, but last summer our program was set up kind of like a daycamp. We had mostly schoolage, and the youngest daycare child was 3 years old (and very well behaved), so we were able to do daycamp type activities everyday. Maybe I could help you?- Flag

I am new to this forum but both my MIL and myself have run summer daycamp programs in the past. I even ran one out of my home for two years when I was 16-17 yrs oldI am planning on running one this summer again 2-3 days per week.
It can be a lot of fun!
The idea is to plan out your week with different games, outings, crafts and activities (Theme days are always great!). A lot of these things can be done outside limiting the amount of time the kids are inside helps things run a lot smoother and it is a good idea to plan a few rainy day backups just in case. (Movie day, PJ day, Theatre day...etc.)
You have to be prepared to deal with some kids who will be bored or tired from all the stimulation but other than that it is a good way to spend the summer. Especially if you yourself have SA kids. It can provide them a great summer without costing you a mint.
We have done Camping Day (Set out a tent, have a bonfire if your town allows that, roast marshmallows, have a picnic or BBQ lunch and play camping games.)
Halloween in July (Everyone makes a costume from home and we have a fashion show, halloween themed snacks, pinata, bobbing for apples, etc.)
Happy unbirthday day (Birthday games, cake with happy unbirthday written on it, etc)
Christmas in July (Everyone brings in a gift for 1$ for a secret Santa, we do silly christmas crafts and we even used shaving cream to make beards on the kids and took some pics...we washed them off with the hose afterwards!)
Animal day (Each child picks an animal and makes a project about that particular animal..I gave them books, encyclopedias and internet access to do some group research along with poster boards to make a presentation. They then got to make cookies in the shape of their animal and we made masks of their chosen animals.
Water Themed days (Pools, sprinklers, water balloon fights, silly water games, popsicles and plenty of towels is all you need to make this one a huge hit)
Theatre Day (We all made puppets out of recycled materials and then we all built a puppet theatre together out of a big box and an old shirt- we cut it into curtains. The kids all got 1 hour to group together and come up with a great show. We then presented the show along with some refreshments we made to the dcps.)
I could go on all day but this is getting pretty long!!
There are so many great summer ideas for SA kids out there. You can find tons of awesome ideas online and if you are stuck you can always email me for inspiration. I still have the binder I kept with my summer camp plans.- Flag
