    Picking At Each Other

I have two dcks, a girl and a boy, one will be four in a couple weeks the other in July. They pick at each other all day...well mostly the girl bothers the boy, and the boy tells on her constantly. It seems that i would just separate them, but i can't do it every second, and she takes any opportunity she can to bother him. As a result, he's become kind of hypersensitive to it, and freaks out if she looks at him. He's kind of a grumpy, whiny little guy at times anyway...sooo, yikes.

Telling dcg's mom is really not something I want to do...shes nice, but she freaks out, and really doesn't help. Plus I want to nip it in the bud on my end....

    Any suggestions will help

I would try to sit them as far away as possible from each other during arts, crafts and meals.
You may want to sit with them for a week or so and observe their play. Some kids just don't know how to play for some reason and need to be taught how to play with toys.
She may also be frustrated because the little boy is not paying any attention to her. It might be good to encourage him to engage in play with her from time to time. Games where each child has to take a turn can help. Sometimes kids will pick at another child for attention from the child care provider too. When she picks at the boy simply remove her from the situation without saying a word to her.
