    DCM Mad At Me For.....

Asking her husband if they have thought about taking their 15 mo daughter to the doctor.

All of the kids in my dc have had horribly runny noses and coughs going on 4 weeks now. All but 1 child has gone to dr, the others were put on antibiotics for ear infections and sinus infections due to allergies.

This one dcg has had horrible bright green thick snot coming out of her nose for 3 weeks! The first week it was clear then changed colors. Yesterday she was sticking her hand down her throat (Im thinking her throat was itchy) Whiney, cranky and tired.

I ask her dad at pick up if they had talked about taking her to the dr. He says" Well we have Kaiser, and they told us that we couldn't give her anything"

So I tell him that if she has an ear or sinus infection they can give her antibiotics to help her get over whatever is going on. So dad agrees to call to try to get her an appt.

DCM always picks up early on Fridays, so I figured mom could take her in after she got off work. DCM also took off on Monday because she was sick.

This morning DCm texts me dcg is not coming because she has an 815 appt.

    Ok great!

Then dad just texts me: DCG has nothing wrong. I told you they wouldn't give her anything. They told us to **** the snot out of her nose. And dcm missed work because of this.

Ok well great your child has no ear infection or sinus infection. At least she was evaluated and you know she does'nt have any of that! I didnt text him that either or reply at all.

What is wrong with people....I have their childs best interest at heart, do they not understand that. Im not trying to inconvience them but enough is enough with green slime coming out of a childs nose!!!

    Thanks for letting me vent!!!!!!!!

I would text back and say "Awesome! Glad there is nothing wrong! As any good parent knows, it is better to be safe than sorry!"

STOP letting them make you feel bad because they had to parent!

Remember how they always say that you should picture your audience being in their underwear when giving a speech to ease your nerves? Well, just develop the attitude that these are not good parents and that you really feel sorry for them for not being smart enough to do what is right by there child.

Taking on a different perspective allows you to STOP feeling bad for THEIR short comings. kwim?

YOU did the right thing. They did not. Move on.

Have a wonderful day!!! It's Friday!! happyface

Dont let them make you feel guilty for doing your job and doing the right thing. Either way, this sick little one should have been at home with mom.

I personally do not allow daycare children to come to daycare with thick green drainage coming from nostrils!!
