    Assistant Job Description

There may be threads about this already but the other post about the assistant sitting around all day got me to wondering if anyone had a job description they would mind sharing. I have considered many times hiring an assistant and I have had an assistant before (my grandma). She is a great assistant as far as dealing with the kids but have you ever had to tell you grandma what to do? It's not easy! Anyway, she got a new job and has been filling in for me now and then but I've been considering hiring an assistant. I've read nannyde's blog and will definately go back and read it again before I do my hiring, but would like to see some sample job descriptions you have for your assistants. I definately want to have a clear description in place for the job they are here to do.

Also, do you have them strictly do daycare type chores or other chores around the house that you can't get to...such as some laundry, cleaning of extra bathroom (not daycare bathroom), etc.

Interested in hearing responses on this.

I tell applicants the job consists of

Supervising children 6 weeks to 5 years
        Changing diapers
Feeding infants (bottles & off the spoon)
        Daily activity
Assisting with serving & cleanup of meals & snacks
        Vacuuming
        Cleaning, sorting & inspecting toys & cots/pnps
Assisting with other household chores (sweeping, mopping, cleaning bathroom, etc.)
        Running an occasional errand

I tell them during the interview process that if we are low on kids or have any downtime, they are expected to clean something. :-)
