    Tubes Friday Miserable Today...

10mo old dcg got tubes Friday and today she has nasty green drainage from her nose and is terribly cranky. Anyone ever heard of this as a side effect or do you think she just has a coincidental cold? She has had ear infection after ear infection and was still full of ear fluid Fri when they did tubes. Possibly the time change is messing with her but this seems more than that. Parents are really good so I know they wouldn't send her if they knew she was sick or miserable. Wwyd?

If she is miserable I would send her home.

I had a child that was new only 2nd day. He was out on thursday to get the tubes done and came on friday. He was in great shape.

I know each child is different, so maybe she is still suffering from fluid in her ears..

Yes, this can happen because the ears, nose & throat are all linked together. If that much is coming out of his nose, just think of what is going down his throat poor thing. Have you called mom & asked her about the nose drainage? My eldest son had tubes & it only ever drained out of his nose 1x and that was when he got a terrible ear infection (yes, while he had tubes). The little boy who lived across the street from me when I was a girl had tubes & it came out of his nose all the time bright green & super thick.

My son had tubes and did not have any drainage. He was completely fine by the next day. That being said, I would definitely call the mother and fill her in on his nose and his mood. She may want to come and get him - I know I would want to if I were in her shoes.
