How Are Your Cots Holding Up?

I am transitioning all 8 of my little ones from their pack and plays to cots this month. I was reading some cot threads and was wondering how happy you are with the cots you purchased. I have a couple of kid who are really hard on things and like to pick on threads and what not. I don't want to spend a bundle only to have to replace them every few months like I did the pack and plays.

What do you use for cots?
What do you like and dislike about them?
Would you buy the same thing again if you were starting over?

    Cots

I have had my cots for about 12 years. They were purchased from Discount School Supply. They are the Angeles. They have held up great and the kids love them!

The only problem is although they are stackable, they do take up a lot of space. I would be interested to see how others store their cots??? My husband has talked about building some type of hang system on the wall for them.

I use crib sheets on them. The elastic edges fit right on to secure them and all the kids just bring a sheet when they start.

Of course they are more expensive than the fold up mats, but much better over all!

I have the 4 section folding vinyl nap mats. I bought them 3 years ago and have never had any problems with them I still have all 7. They are super easy to clean and store.

I've had the standard blue cots for almost 5 years and they are great. The frame bent on one when an older sibling tried to lay down on it. 50 pounds or less has not been a problem.

I have the same cots, toddler size. My 10 yr old son just had a sleepover with 6 other boys his age. One of the moms suggested they use my daycare cots to sleep on, instead of right on the floor. Um .... NO!!

I have the stackable Angeles cots from Discount school supply too. I love them and so do the children! They are very durable and washable. I really like that they come in different colors as each child has his or her own color cot here.

I have the hanging mats from DSS; I've had 12 for about 10 years. I am going to replace one or two this year, as they are getting flattened from use (2" thick new, now at about 1").

When I started, I had the stacking cots. I loved them, but they took up alot of room. I've never regretted purchasing the hanging mats.

Mine are similar to these: https://www.schooloutfitters.com/cat...81?envmkt=Img2

I don't know the brand name, though, since I bought them from another provider at least 15 years ago. They are holding up great. I make my own sheets to fit them.

Walmart has foldable cots. They sell them in the baby sections. They are about 50.00 each.

I also have the larger-sized Angeles cots from DSS. I love them! I would say the only problem is that the children love to walk and jump on them. The second I put them down, I am immediately removing children and re-directing!

                          Kindermats

Our regs say the mats have to be only 1/2in thick or more. I have the kindermats (4 section folding) I bought at Walmart. I got most of mine on clearance for $5 each. I have 1 that has split at the seams, but I've only been doing dc for 2.5 years.

I am having the space issue with mine also. This is what im thinking..... Having my husband build me a table to go over the cots so that the cots when stacked can slide right under the table and it would be dual purpose and i can use the table top for whatever I need.

I have been thinking about it for awhile now. Hanging them works to but depending on how many you have they are still in the way

We use the standard blue cots also. So far they've held up great and we got them from another daycare. So they've been through two daycares now, if you count ours, and they're still holding up. They are really sturdy too. They hold a LOT of weight, and have stood up to the children jumping on them and walking all over them as soon as I lay them out every day. And climbing on them when they're stacked.... (the children can be trained not to do that though. As soon as we remind our's not to climb on them, they usually get down right away. They do take up some room (about 4 feet long), but we just stack them up and use them as a room divider (I love having a 2 in 1 room divider!). They are light weight, so the children can even get a partner to help carry them over to me to stack up. We need more, but the cost is SO high to buy new. That's the only draw back to them. Oh, and that I can't find this particular brand anymore, so I don't even know if the new ones would stack on the old ones.
