just saw an ad that states
*complaining about local daycares so she is opening her own
*says she is new, just opening
*promises one on one attention (will also saying there will be at least a half dozen kids there)
*open 12 hour days (uncommon in our area) but says hours and even weekends are flexible
*promises kinder readiness
*provides all food
*gives a phone number and says she is available at all times for calls
*shows pictures of her place which is clearly her own small living room, no toys, just equipment (walkers, etc) and a big TV
ahhhh!all together, its about every "no-no" a provider can make, all in one ad. This ad screams "take advantage of me, I am brand new and desperate for daycare parents"
its unbelievable the amount of new home daycares in my area in the last two years. still waiting to see when the bottom drops out. I know several providers that have had openings unfilled for a long time and am just starting to see "daycare closing" type yard sales and that sort of thing.
